On February 4th, 2015, Allianz Worldwide Care, working with their sister company Allianz China General Insurance Company, officially launched International Healthcare Plans for expats and local nationals living in China.
Overview of Allianz Worldwide Care’s International Healthcare Plans
These new International Healthcare Plans were developed by Allianz Worldwide Care specifically for expats who are residing in China. Due to regulatory restrictions in China, the company has selected to initially launch these plans for expats living in Shanghai, with further plans being made available throughout China in the near future.
Expats in Shanghai can select from three Core Plans that cover a variety of in- and day-patient treatments and benefits along with optional plan add-ons that offer extended cover for outpatient, maternity, health and wellbeing treatment, general dental treatment, and dental surgery with orthodontics.
Those who sign up for any of the new plans can gain access to a number of great benefits including:
-
Available cover for a range of pre-existing and chronic conditions.
-
Dental plans with higher limits and lower waiting periods.
-
Cover for a comprehensive range of health and wellbeing tests.
-
Deductibles that don’t have to be paid when outpatient treatment is sought in public hospitals.
-
No underwriting when transferring to an equivalent Allianz Worldwide Care plan outside of China.
In an effort to make submitting claims as easy and pain-free as possible, every plan is compatible with the direct billing network in China. This means members can receive cashless treatment from over 280 private hospitals, public hospitals, clinics, dental facilities, and day or out-patient centres throughout China.
Because the new plans are International Healthcare Plans, members can receive treatment outside of China from medical providers included in Allianz Worldwide Care’s global network.
